  • What is a car warranty?

A car warranty provides protection against the cost of unexpected mechanical or electrical failures. While most new vehicles come with a manufacturer’s warranty that typically lasts for three years, any issues arising after that period are the owner’s responsibility. An extended warranty bridges this gap, offering cover once the original manufacturer’s warranty expires. It’s important to understand that not all repairs are covered — accidental damage and premature part failures are usually excluded. We always recommend reviewing the full terms and conditions of the warranty before proceeding.

  • Why choose a Warrantywise plan?

Warrantywise offers discretionary warranty cover, which means that claims are considered and handled with a degree of flexibility. To ensure fairness, Warrantywise has appointed respected motoring expert Edd China as an independent arbiter, who has the final say in the event of any unresolved disputes. This structure sets Warrantywise apart, delivering both assurance and confidence in how claims are managed.

  • Do I need to service my vehicle to be eligible for warranty cover?

If your vehicle has a documented, up-to-date service history, you will not need to service it again prior to activating a plan. However, if the last recorded service does not meet the manufacturer’s recommended schedule, a service must be carried out before the warranty can begin. Maintaining a service schedule in line with the manufacturer’s requirements is essential to keeping your warranty valid.

  • Can I choose my own repair garage?

Yes, but with conditions. Warrantywise recommends using one of their Approved Repairers, who are vetted for workmanship and service quality. If you prefer to use your own VAT-registered garage, they must follow Warrantywise’s repairs procedure and agree to a labour rate that matches your warranty schedule. In this case, you may be required to pay upfront and claim reimbursement once the repair has been authorised.

  • What is included in an extended warranty?

An extended warranty from Warrantywise is designed to cover the cost of unexpected mechanical or electrical failures once your manufacturer’s warranty ends. Depending on the level of cover, it may include added benefits such as roadside assistance, car hire, and recovery. Warrantywise plans are tailored to suit the age and mileage of your vehicle, ensuring suitable and affordable protection.

  • How long can a warranty plan last?

Plans are available in a range of terms including monthly cover, or fixed terms of 12, 24, or 36 months. You can choose the duration that best suits your needs and driving habits.

  • What are my payment options?

You can pay for your plan in full, spread the cost over four months, or opt for a rolling monthly Pay-As-You-Go arrangement, depending on what works best for your budget.

  • Can I cancel my warranty?

Yes. All Warrantywise plans come with a 14-day cooling-off period. If you cancel within that time and have not made a claim, you will receive a full refund with no deductions.

  • Who do I contact if something goes wrong with my car?

If you experience a fault, stop driving immediately and contact the Warrantywise repairs team on 01254 355102 (Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm, Saturday 9am–12pm). For emergency breakdowns outside of office hours, call the 24/7 helpline on 0800 054 2174. Continuing to drive after a fault may affect your claim eligibility.
